Haverhill, Haverhill, MA, USA

About the event

Rich with history and symbolizing the freedom, liberty, and justice we all enjoy and the tangible representation of the sacrifices and lives given to protect this country, the U.S. flag is also hope and light. This project is to further honor and respect the living symbol of our freedom by providing proper and adequate lighting to the U.S. flags flown within the city limits of Haverhill according to law and the U.S. Flag code 4 USC Chapter 1: “It is the universal custom to display the flag only from sunrise to sunset on buildings and stationary flagstaffs in the open. However, when we desire a patriotic effect, the flag may be displayed twenty-four hours a day if properly illuminated during the hours of darkness.”

In addition, the U.S. flag code defines that proper illumination as: “As a light specifically placed to illuminate the flag (preferred) or to have a light source sufficient to illuminate the flag, so it is recognizable as such by the casual observer.”

We are seeking 50 people who are able to donate to illuminate our flags!........... $100

You donation will help light up two flag poles in the city of Haverhill (or update an aging flag). Your name(s)/organization will be highlighted in a shoutout on social media, on the Eammon’s Heart Freedom Illumination Project website, shared at all of EH events throughout 2022, and names will also be included in a press release and all media coverage.
